- What does the $395 set-up fee include?
The $395 set-up fee includes everything to get you started with your new custom website. It includes the layout of your website, the selection of stock photos along with the placement of your own photos, and even the writing of your website copy. The set-up fee also includes a training session so that you’ll be able to edit content and upload new photos on your own.
We do have a page limit of 5 pages, including a blog page if you’d like. For additional pages, we charge $125/page for design and content.
- How does the website building process work?
Once you sign up for a Brand Genie custom website, this is how the website building process will go:
Step One: Intake – To get started, you’ll fill out a Content Creator so we know the information to cover in your website. You’ll also get a checklist that will share what you need to send in, such as headshots, your brand selection, and your logo (if you have one).
Step Two: Web Session #1 – Once you complete your Content Creator and send in your photos, your Brand Genie Expert will meet with you over the phone for 30 minutes to review your materials and ask more questions.
Step Three: Design – Once your Brand Genie Expert has all of the parts and pieces, the custom design work begins. Your Expert will take care of all of the design and copy details. We’ll design the layout, place the photos, and massage the content with our copywriting expertise.
Step Four: Web Session #2 – Now it’s time for the presentation! Your Brand Genie Expert will email you the link to the complete design of your new custom website. Then you’ll meet for 30 minutes over the phone. Together, you’ll review your new custom website to make sure it’s all that you had hoped it would be.
Step Five: Final Changes – After the presentation, you’ll have a chance to email your Brand Genie Expert final changes to make for the design and copy.
Step Six: Site Goes Live! – Once the final changes are implemented, your new site will go live! Your Brand Genie Expert will be right there to help you with the technical aspects such as the DNS transfer.
Step Seven: Dashboard Training – Now that your site is live, we’ll hand over the “keys” to your new website with a 30-minute training session. We’ll teach you how to edit content, add and delete photos, add blog posts, and much more.
- Why do I need to pick a brand?
By picking a brand, we’ll have a better and quicker understanding of your aesthetic preferences. This brand is simply a starting place for your website. It helps us more quickly understand the look and feel you’d like for your site. Specifically, we’ll know what types of fonts and colors to select as well as types of photos to choose. Your own unique brand will stem from this origin point.
- Will I be working with a live person?
Absolutely. You’ll have the same Brand Genie Expert throughout your Brand Genie website building process. Your expert will read your intake forms and review them with you in the phone web sessions. This same expert will edit the copy and create the design. Your expert will happily make changes to the design or content based on your feedback.
- Once my site is live, can I still get help on my website?
Of course. Your monthly fee includes unlimited tech support for any questions that arise once your site is live, for instance, how to update copy, change out photos, or post a new blog.
- Am I a fit for Brand Genie?
If you’re looking for an elegant, simple, and affordable website that truly expresses who you are, Brand Genie is a perfect match.
Brand Genie essentially gets you to a starting point and then we teach you how to “drive” your site from there.
Here’s what we do for you:
- create the layout and design
- massage content to make copy more compelling
- plug in photos
- answer questions on an ongoing basis
Here’s what you need to do:
- provide all content in the forms provided (bullet points is fine, but we do need the info)
- provide photos (although we can source a few stock photos)
- provide logo if you have one (otherwise we’ll just use a simple type treatment logo for site)
- be available for web sessions
- be the guardian of the site once you go live (although we are available for questions that crop up)
- Will I need a logo?
Some of our customers bring their own logo with them. Many customers opt for a type-treatment logo in their website which does not require a designed logo.
- Do you help with my email set-up?
We can point you in the right direction (we love Google Business Mail), but we don’t set up emails. Instead, we focus your set-up fee entirely on the design and creation of your new site. Your Brand Genie Expert will happily answer any questions you might have about setting up your email.
- Do I need to purchase my own domain?
Yes, you do. If you haven’t already purchased your domain (otherwise known as your URL), we recommend GoDaddy. It’s easy to use and very affordable.
- What does the $35/month fee include?
The $35 monthly fee includes hosting and unlimited tech support. We’re here to help make your business a success!
- Once my site is live, will you be available to answer questions I might have?
Absolutely. We see your website as an ever-evolving marketing piece, so we’re happy to answer questions through email or through a call for any questions that crop up.
- What if I need to make major changes to my site after it goes live?
If you’re wanting to make a major change to your site, such as adding a new page, no problem! We’re happy to put together a budget for site refreshes or updates.
- What platform will my site be built on?
We build all of our sites on the Weebly platform. We researched the marketplace and found that Weebly was the most up to date from a technological standpoint, as well as offering design elements to create beautiful sites.
